Sledding in California

He has his shirt off in this picture because it got wet, after I told him to only get his feet wet. Good listening :/

We had a half day of school, the weather was beautiful, and the waves were supposed to be VERY big today, so we headed down to the beach with our sleds. Every winter they make big sand burms (?) in front of the buildings along the beach to keep the water from getting to them, but we see them as great sledding hills. (quite the opposite of Kendra's sledding) Today was perfect and in the 70's!! Happy December.

That's just wrong, on so many different levels :) I guess there's not the chance of going too fast, being propelled off your sled and cracking your head open, at least. Looks like fun. I'm really just jealous it's so warm!

Can that really be called sledding? That looks like fun, though. My kids haven't done any sledding yet this year. It's going to snow more tomorrow, so maybe we'll get out.

Boy, that looks like fun... you'd never have to worry about going too fast or flying over a bump and crashing and burning. It must have been sunny and warmer than when we went a couple of weeks ago.

We used to do that in the sand dunes in Oceano back in the middle of the last century. Everything old is new again.

That's California for you! Looks so fun. Seems like I remember cardboard box dune sledding at Oceano.
