Winter Fun

We are having so much fun in Utah with our families! We have enjoyed visiting with everyone, sledding with cousins multiple times, and lots more. We finally got to meet Jack who is adorable and his parents promised he normally isn't that fussy, which he wasn't! Today we went to Hollywood Connection with Matt's family. The kids love to go and look forward to it all year. It is just fun to be with our families that we don't get to see very often. There will be pictures when I get home to upload them.

Christmas Music

Sarah McLachlan- Wintersong

I got this cd last year, I think. I LOVE IT!! I could listen to it all year round. I love her voice and then adding that to Christmas music is amazing! If you don't have it in your Christmas music I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Back to Thanksgiving

Since it is almost Christmas I have to do our Thanksgiving post. We had such a fun time spending the whole week in San Diego. We started the morning very early with Seth throwing up. We all piled in the car and headed to Legoland, Seth still throwing up. We tried to do as much as we could at Legoland, Threw up twice and asked to go home. Seth started to feel better luckily and it was a 24 hr bug. We stayed on Coronado Island all week and had a blast keeping ourselves entertained with running the sand dunes, biking, shopping, taking the ferry to Downtown San Diego, making a ferry stop at the marine base where the Reagan was docked (they informed us no pictures within the security boundaries or they would confiscate our cameras :( , and ice skating at the Hotel Del just off the beach!! AWESOME! We also hit SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. We had a great week!!!

Here it is

Me being a dork :p
After 15 years of thinking about straightening my hair chemically, I did it. Here is the finished product. It was a week long process. Last Friday she straightened it, and then I went back yesterday to have her do the color. Yes I am grey, I have to color it, it wasn't just for fun! But I did have her add more bangs too. I like it, and it takes 1/20 of the time it did in the past to straighten it! Hope I don't regret it!!!

Paradise Cove Breakfast

We had such a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Strong. They came the weekend before Thanksgiving. We went to Paradise Cove in Malibu for breakfast and then walked along the beach. We were so excited to find that it was low tide and we could see the tide pools. That was a first for us. We had a great time with them, thanks for coming!!

Back to the 80's

Ready for the dance

I wear my sunglasses at nightAir Guitar competition
Break dancing in front of everyone!
Vanilla Ice, The Cure, and KISS what a combo

Seth wasn't supposed to be Vanilla Ice my friend just thought that was the look :)
The totally rad moms

We had an awesome time at the Mother/Son Back to the 80's dance last night. They had great music and everyone had a great time. Seth partied like a rock star, literally, dancing, singing and playing the guitar. It was so fun to see all the moms and how they decided to dress for the 80's! The worst part was going to the restaurant and having everybody stare at you, although my friend got a lot more looks than I did. And both our outfits were bought at Target in the last month, that tells you that the 80's are back! The funniest part was after the dance when we went to 7-11 at 10pm and a 17 yr old girl came up to me and told me she loved my outfit :/ We were sad Paige and Matt didn't get to go the next night since she is in Middle school now, but when we got home she had surprised Matt by decorating the living room 80's style the best she could.

Whipping Winds

It was SO windy today. After I dropped the kids off at school I was doing something in the kitchen and noticed my big patio umbrella had blown over and out from the hole in the center of the table. I then turn to look out my other window and notice my whole table top shattered on the ground. What a mess!!! Luckily I had been wanting to get rid of the set for the past year. This made the decision easy. Just a lot to clean up, luckily Matt was still home. Thanks Matt!!

Soccer Rain

Last Saturday Paige's 8am game avoided the rain, but not Seth's. Half way through his 10am game it started pouring. It lasted just long enough to get everyone a little wet, but not enough to call the game, luckily! During the rain the other team scored 2 goals and would have won, but our team pulled ahead once the rain stopped. Last game is this Saturday, great season Super Mario Bros.

Something New!!

MUTE THE MUSIC!

We finally bit the bullet and bought a piano. Paige is playing so well and enjoying it that we couldn't put it off any longer. Playing a keyboard just isn't the same when you can play the things she can. And she will only get better. It will be nice to have music in our house. We just need to keep other children from banging on it (Seth) :) Isn't technology great. She played this tonight and now you are seeing it. Gotta love it!
WOW! I guess I should check the video I am uploading before I waste 20 minutes. Here is what I came up with! LOL!! I left it on because it made me laugh at how dumb I am, and to boot it's a video I didn't even mean to take. :(((((

Let's try this again! :)

Rockstar Dad

I got a better picture of Seth in his whole ice wolf ninja costume. (Josh can borrow it:)
Our Rocker Dad

Matt is always such a good sport to wear whatever we buy him for Halloween! This year we went with the mohawk, nose, lip and ear piercings, studded collar, and studded gloves. He looked awesome! People didn't even recognize him and children would stare as he walked by. It was great. Too bad he and Paige can't go to the Father/Daughter dance at the Elementary school this year, the theme is 80's, and this would have been perfect.

Happy Halloween!

Shadow Ninja and Genie
Me the Halloween Freak

Halloween was really fun this year. We even avoided the rain. I hasn't rained here in months and the day of Halloween was very dark and cloudy, but it held off until the next day. We went to our neighbors for pizza and then hit the streets. Crazy enough, my kids actually asked us to go home after and hour or so. We didn't complain because they were already loaded up on candy. It doesn't end there, tonight is our trunk or treat. More candy, yay :( I took a picture of Matt, but his wig doesn't show well in the dark, so I will take another tonight. Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a lot of fun at the pumpkin patch. We go every year and pick out just the right pumpkins. That about sums it all up!! Happy Halloween!

3 years later

Paige has not lost a tooth in forever. She was slow to get her teeth and slow to lose them. Tonight she told me she thought she would lose a tooth by Halloween. She showed me that one tooth was getting really loose and bleeding a little. Well, with Paige's track record of having teeth hanging for days and letting them fall out on their own, I thought she was being optimistic. 30 minutes later she came out of the bathroom holding her tooth! Good job Paige! and it looks like the other side should fall out in the next week.

I know!!

yes, I set the timer, I just had to document my day!

I know, I know, I keep saying this, but I went to the beach by myself last week. It was 90 in Malibu because of the Santa Ana winds, which rarely happens. So I packed a snack, my beach chair, and umbrella. AAHHH! So relaxing, I want to go again! I would love company if anyone wants to join me :) rub,rub

Spirit Day

Today at Paige's school they are having Spirit Day and then I think an assembly later. I'm sure I will hear all about it after school. She is always so worried about no one else dressing up, so as we pulled up to the school she started second guessing whether she should take the pompom out of her hair. I told her it looked great!! Once she saw that others were dressed up she felt better. Obviously her school colors are bright blue and white. Have fun Paigey!

Patriotic

Seth was being very patriotic last night. He was singing his heart out as he lay in bed trying to fall asleep. Of course as soon as I turned the corner with the camera he saw me and stopped. So this video is nothing to look at, but the sound is so cute. Great job Seth, especially the ocean part!

Don't Ya

Don't Ya wish your little boy looked like me?
We went to my favorite lunch hang out, Lamppost Pizza. The kids get quarters to play games or buy junk. One of the machines spits out tatoos. Seth got a few and then came back over and showed me this... He did it himself! WOW, and it looked perfect. It is still slowly fading, I don't dare scrub it off for fear of leaving a big mark. Hopefully these will be the only tatoos he gets :)

Catching up on Bday

On Paige's birthday night we went out to BJ's for dinner and a Pizookie for dessert! Need I say more, YUM!

Pizookie, large cookie with ice cream on top, or the side for Paige!

Singing Balloon!

Paige's party was a success. The gymnastics was a blast and a real workout for the girls. Here are some pictures and a video of the birthday girl. The decorations were Hollywood, so the goody bags had sunglasses with necklaces that they all put on. It still feels weird that she is 11. She is growing so tall!!! When I walk next to her I feel like I am getting shorter. Watch out Carrie, the next time we come she may be taller than you! :)

Famous

I suggest all my friends run out and buy this awesome shirt! :) I want to buy it for myself but that would be a little weird and I highly doubt Paige would wear it. :( I saw it hanging in a store at the mall today. Once again, my name is finally cool. Who would've thought my name would be on the front of a t-shirt. thanks mom and dad for not naming me Wendy, or I would be wearing a t-shirt with a girl with bright red braids!

Dance Dance

Paige got some fun games for her birthday, gift cards and money, and we got her Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) for the wii. I even used it today for some exercise! The kids love it all. We have played the games MULTIPLE times and we are getting the hang of DDR. Thanks to everyone for making her birthday great!
