Happy Birthday Party Paige!

Paige had a fun Party going to Cheesecake Factory, Ice Skating and then a sleepover. Wow, are we tired! All of Paige's friends told her it was the best Birthday party they had been to. I guess that makes it a success. Her real Birthday is Oct. 1st, so the festivities are still in full swing!

Make time stop!

My little Paige will be 10 in a few days! How do you stop time and keep her a little girl? Someone reminded me that she will never be single digits again. How did time go by so fast. Stay tuned for pictures of all the festivities!

A little sand never hurt...

Some kids have issues with the sand. They don't like to play in it, walk in it, or get it in their mouths! Luckily, I guess, my son doesn't have this problem. Almost 2 years ago I took the first picture. We went to the beach in December, brought stale popcorn to feed the birds, and played around on the sand dunes. Seth and his friend dumped the popcorn out for the seagulls, and I turn around to find this, Seth leaning over and eating the popcorn out of the sand. I have found him licking the sand off his hands, recently I might add, and sand on his snacks at the beach has never really bothered him. But the second picture made me laugh. It was one of our last beach days this summer and we were packing up, when my friend Katrina emptied her ice onto the sand. A few minutes later she motioned for me to look down, there was Seth, he couldn't resist the ice (he LOVES to eat ice). I grabbed my camera before he knew we were watching. My son the popcorn, ice, and sand lover.

Lightning and Thunder and Rain...Oh My!!!

This picture is from 2/2005, he is now 5 1/2. Don't get me wrong, he would still do this!

It has finally happened! Rain in So. Cal. The last time I remember it really raining was last March, when my friend Michele, from Utah, was vacationing at Disneyland. Yes, it has been a loooong time. It started raining Friday just as Paige's soccer practice was finishing and continued through the night. Around 8:30pm Paige came up and told me that it was either thundering (is that a word?) or a truck was going by. My poor California kids never get to see lightning and thunder. Later she wanted to look for lightning, and I told her that I was sure it was far away and probably wouldn't be able to see it. She proved me wrong! It wasn't the magnificent shows you see elsewhere, but she loved it. After she got in bed she said now I have seen a lightning and thunder storm, a lunar eclipse and a meteor shower. she was excited. We told her in the past that while we were in Philly we would get fun lighting and thunder storms. One in particular in the middle of the night lit up the sky and then shook our 30 story apt. building. She came running down the hall as fast as she could and jumped into bed with us (she was probably 3). She pulled the covers over her head and after a few minutes of her not moving we thought she had fallen asleep. We tried to pull the cover back down and she said "pull them back up!" She loves to talk about that story! It is pouring again outside! Yeah!

By the way...

Well, we were so shocked when Paige out of the blue wanted to get her ears pierced last May. Well, she has ears pierced no more. She had a hard time changing out the earrings in July, so we left the studs in. Then came soccer season. You have to take your earrings out during the games. The first game came and we got the earrings out without too much pain, but then you have to put them back in. Not going to happen. I could get the stud back in the front, but trying to get it through the back hole was another story. One less thing to worry about! Anyway, don't send her earrings for her birthday! :)

First Soccer Game

Okay, the first game was last Saturday, but here are the pictures. Both kids did great!! Paige had an assist for a goal and a lot of kicks on goal. She did awesome! Seth, in his bright green uniform, had a great first ever soccer game. He scored his teams 2 goals! both kids are loving soccer and have really fun coaches and teams. The past 2 weeks have been a little hectic with overlapping 8am and 9am games, but the great part is we're done with soccer by 10am!

Happy Jewish New Year!

The kids are out of school this thursday and friday for "Fall Break", that means Rosh Hashonah. Kendra and I were talking the first week of school about getting back into a routine and exercising and making some resolutions. She said back to school is better than New Years to make your resolutions, because then you can try and keep them throughout the school year. Well, Happy Jewish New Year. Perfect for back to school resolutions!!!! :) :)
