Ward Hike

The Family
Easy hike
Pet Lizard :)
Sunset, obviously
overlooking Zuma

We had a really fun Ward activity last weekend. We had a picnic and then went hiking in the Santa Monica mtns above Malibu. It was an evening hike so the weather was cooler and the views were amazing. When we got to the overlook you could see Catalina Island to the South and the Channel Islands to the North. It was awesome! You could even look down on Zuma beach! :) It was a great family activity and easy enough to do again!

Kindergarten Program

This morning Seth had his Kindergarten program. It was so cute and the kids did a great job! The empty spot in the front was where 2 of the kids decided singing in front of a crowd wasn't for them :( Seth did so great and knew all of the songs, he didn't even practice at home so I wasn't sure what they were going to sing. My favorite part was when they sang You are my Sunshine! I love that song and used to sing it to Seth when he was little. I remember a year or so ago when Seth was mad at me and said out of the blue "you're not my sunshine!!" It was adorable! So I love that song even more. Seth has had a wonderful year in Kindergarten and has made some great friends. He will make a great 1st grader! Great job Seth!!!!

Happy Birthday Karyn!

Karyn, Korbyn, Katrina & Gwen?
mmmm, Cheesecake Factory!
Karyn and Korbyn

Today is my friend Karyn's birthday. I met her 2 years ago when she moved here from Arizona. My friend Katrina and I bombarded her when she arrived in August and insisted she go to the beach and pool with us for the rest of the summer. We had so many fun days hanging out together while watching the kids play. She moved 20 minutes away last year, but I love talking to her and getting her opinion on things, so she can't get ride of me. She is one of the most compassionate people I know, read her blog sometime, you'll know what I am talking about. Thanks Karyn for being a great friend!!

ps-the shirt I am wearing is really cute, it just fluffs out when I sit down which makes me look like a house. not a good picture :(

Today is my older sister's birthday. I won't say how old, but she is 3 years older than me, so do the math. She is a great example to me and wonderful older sister.

Winter, Spring, Summer

Cool new cyclops kite
Summer is coming

This week has been crazy! Monday was overcast with mist. I don't think it was fog because it never burned off. It was breezy and cold, just over 60 degrees. That is winter here. Tuesday warmed up to about 80 and was very breezy. We flew our kite for the first time and it stayed up. There's Spring. By Wednesday it was 90 degrees and hot. The kids have half day Wednesday so I thought what better place to go than the beach. Ahhhh, I love the beach. Sorry, you will have to hear me say it all summer. It was beautiful and clear. The only hang up was that the water was too cold, but the kids were boogie boarding regardless. Seth gave it 10 minutes, while Paige stuck it out for 20. But when she got out she said her legs were numb :( Today got up to 100. We went to the pool. It is just so crazy that the weather can swing so quickly!
ps-we heard there were jellyfish down the beach, a little while later we saw a whole jellyfish on the sand 50 ft from where we were playing. I have seen bits of jellyfish before there, but never a whole one. pictures to come, I took them with my friends camera.

Happy Mother's Day!

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to my own Mom and Grandma. This is not the best picture of any of us, but it has all of us in it, so I like it! Let's take a better one this summer at SunRiver. I love you!

Things I love!

Fall 2005

I have been thinking of things that I love and would recommend to others, or just things I love. I can tell it's spring/summer because everyone's posts are getting fewer each week, and I am lazy about getting pictures off my camera and onto the computer to post. So when I feel like I need to post something but don't have any great words of wisdom or recipes (haha) I am going to tell you things I love. (if you care) This week of course it is my kids! I almost put something else, but that would make it look like they are second best. Well, Matt too. I'll say my family!
